Please take time to reflect...
First off, allow me to extend my condolences to the Kayne West and the
West family. I wish them patience and strength in these trying times.
Secondly, let me tell all of our patients and friends to take a step
back with me to put things in perspective. Although loss of life is the
ultimate tragedy, it fortunately is one of the rarities in cosmetic
surgery. Every surgery has risks, but cosmetic surgeries are some of the
safest surgeries to have.
To increase the safety measure of cosmetic surgery, I suggest you pay
attention to these issues:
1. Ask for referrals from your trusted friends who have done the
specific surgery you are interested in.
2. Do your homework. Learn as much as possible about the specifics of
the cosmetic surgery that you are interested
3. Cosmetic, Plastic and reconstructive surgery is a great, vast and
diverse field. No one surgeon is good at every thing. Make sure they are
highly experienced in the specific procedures you are interested in. It
is not enough for them to have a degree or a certificate. It is very
crucial that they are experienced.
4. There are no procedures and no surgeries that have no complications.
And any surgeon who has done enough of the procedures would have
experienced some complications. There is a saying in surgery that the
first 100 surgeons, the surgeon has to pay the patients. After that, he
deserves great pay. Ask them as to how many procedures of the specific
type you are interested in they have done. What complications they have
had and how they have treated them. The right surgeon admits that he has
had complications in his reactive, he has done hundreds or even
thousands of those procedures and he explains to you how he manages complications.
5. Make sure your surgeon has his own operating room or at least full
time access to an operating room that is accredited and/or licensed.
6. Make sure your surgeon is able to transfer you to a hospital in case
of emergency for further management and treatment.
7. Make sure a board certified anesthesiologist is conducting the
anesthesia and will monitor you.
8. A small percentage of surgeons have the super man syndrome, they
think they can do it all and get away with it and they are the solution
to all problems. Meet and interview your surgeon, make sure he has a
normal ego. Make sure your surgeon is very conservative, has the
understanding that he is only part of the equation and not in control of all the variables and that he is aware of the importance of the patients contribution and the other doctors, medical conditions of the patient (the nature of the individual patient) as well as the fact that (sentence was not finished here)
9. Above all, you are a human being. You are the most important person
when it comes to the cosmetic surgery you are looking to have. Make sure
you are put first, your safety is of outmost priority and importance and
that the doctor and his staff give you sufficient attention and respect.
Make sure you are comfortable with the doctor. You can talk to him/her
comfortably and intelligently and she/he is comfortable answering your
questions and make sure you understand the explanation he offers you.
Finally make sure your family doctor is comfortable with the idea of
your surgery and if the physicians do not encourage or recommend
surgery, do not push or doctor shop.
In summary, at the New Me, we do our best to make sure that we are
doing absolutely everything in our power to assure our patients safety.
Our surgical facility is accredited; we make sure we do preoperative
evaluations for all of our patients, we do blood tests, we do heart
evaluations, we also have board certified anesthesiologists in our
practice who conduct the anesthesia. We strive to supersede the standard
of care and that has been the key to our success.

Media Pressure vs Self Esteem
In our office we have a diverse blend of women working here. The best attributes they each have is being strong, independent women with good self esteem. In one of our staff meetings the subject of tattoos came up and of course when tattoos are mentioned Kat von D's name always follows. There was an episode recently aired on TLC of the reality series about Kat and her LA based tattoo shop(which happens to be right down the street). In this episode Kat notices that she's lost a bit of weight and in that some of the tissue in her breast has also gone, bye-bye. Her good friend and shop manager Pixie encourages Kat to look into breast implants (yay Pixie, go team breast lol) but Kat has to think long and hard before making this commitment. Kat goes in for a consult and at the end of the show decides this isnt for her. A personal choice we can all accept. This is where media pressure abd self esteem come to a cross. America today still focuses on the bodily image(thus why I still have a job) but the point is that this is something each person does for themselves. Cosmetic surgery shouldnt be about pressure but about comfort with the body. Kat didn't need it but Pixie is team Breast and we can appreciate both those side because much like our staff these are strong, independent women with good self esteem.

While bathing suit shopping with Pixie, Kat learns her recent weight loss has changed more than her waistline. Pixie gives Kat the hard sell on breast implants. But before Kat goes under the knife, she does a test run on the girls at the shop.

ADVANCED, REVISIONAL OR RECONSTRUCTIVE COSMETIC SURGERY
Cosmetic Surgery is a truly fantastic specialty. It is by far, one of the most exciting, rewarding yet challenging and subjective specialties of Medicine. There are very rare specialties of medicine that are as gratifying as cosmetic surgery in which a surgeon can participate in further improvement and transformation of their healthy and happy patients' lives and witness the results of their efforts almost immediately. On the other hand however, Cosmetic Surgery can be a subjective specialty in that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" hence this reality lends itself well to making the results of any cosmetic surgery subject to the judgment of the patient as well as others.
There are rare opportunities in life for any one of us to seek-out an expert who can team up with us and help transform our lives for the better. Cosmetic Surgery experts can help us achieve such transformation. Every year, around the world, millions of patients undergo successful cosmetic surgeries and find themselves closer to their ideal vision of themselves. Life is about transformation and no matter how wonderful a person may look, he or she can always improve. A patient can always wish to have more cosmetic surgery. After all, cosmetic surgery is an elective surgery and there is almost no end point to it; hence it can almost always be improved. On rare occasions however, there are those patients who are not yet satisfied with the outcome of their cosmetic surgeries and still wish to undergo revisional surgeries to improve their cosmetic surgical results.
The best Cosmetic Surgeons in the world only do fifty-percent of the work and are only responsible for fifty percent of the cosmetic surgery results. The other fifty percent depends on the patient's healing capacity, genetics; medical conditions that may contribute to the results and overall multitude of factors that can not be predicted nor controlled by the patient, the surgeon or anyone else.
Revising a previously performed cosmetic surgery and correcting its flaws can be a major challenge. Usually, in the process of the original surgery the normal anatomy has most likely been modified and the Revision-Specialist Surgeon needs to identify the normal anatomy and also be aware of the changes that can occur both as a result of normal healing process as well as the unwanted changes that can result after surgery which may be responsible for the undesired cosmetic results. As surgeons become more experienced and perform thousands of surgeries of advanced, revisional or reconstructive cosmetic surgery, their level of expertise increases in performing corrective revisional cosmetic surgery. The surgeons eventually become surgeons' surgeons. They learn to perform those surgeries that younger and more inexperienced surgeons are not able to manage easily. They become experts and receive referrals from the community to improve other surgeons' results.
Dr. Shane Sheibani, having performed thousands of advanced, revisional and reconstructive cosmetic surgeries of face, nose, body and the breasts is one of such surgeons. He specializes in reconstructive and advanced revisional cosmetic surgery. He has developed a reputation for himself in Southern California in this area of specialty. He is often referred patients who have had previous cosmetic surgery and the results of which are not to the patient's satisfaction. These patients come to benefit from Dr. Shane Sheibani's expertise and skills in order to receive the results that they are looking for.
Advanced, revisional and reconstructive cosmetic surgery is the cornerstone of Dr. Shane Sheibani's, Practice. Dr. Sheibani is also known as Dr. New Me in association to his practice called New Me Surgical Institute in Beverly Hills/Los Angeles area.. Throughout the years after thousands of cases of advanced, revisional and reconstructive cosmetic surgery and with over 15 years of education and training in medicine and surgery, Dr. Sheibani has developed and acquired the skills, techniques and technologies that allow him to perform these demanding surgeries.
The types of advanced, revisional and reconstructive cosmetic surgeries that Dr. Sheibani performs include correction of Breast cosmetic appearance after breast augmentation, breast reduction or breast lifts in addition to improvement of nasal contour; as well as facial and body cosmetic surgery improvement including but not limited to improvement of breast cleavage, breast contour deformity, areolar nipple malposition, ,poor breast contour, excess scar formation after any cosmetic surgery; nasal contour and nostril corrective surgery, face lift revision and facial contour improvement to name a few. Dr. Sheibani is a proponent of natural cosmetic surgery and has developed and acquired thousands of advanced cosmetic surgery techniques that allow him to perform a large variety of minimally invasive cosmetic surgery of the face, nose, breasts and body with minimal or no visible scars. His techniques may include hiding the incisions in the various inconspicuous areas of the body such as the skin folds, belly button; under the arms, in the hair line or utilizing the body's own tissues for corrective cosmetic surgery and are all directed toward creating an attractive, beautiful and natural body figure with minimal evidence of surgery.
Have you had a cosmetic surgery before? Are you completely satisfied with the results of your surgery? Are you looking to improve the appearance of your breasts and create a more youthful, attractive and voluptuous appearance? Are you not happy with the results of your nose surgery? Are you not happy with the results of your tummy tuck or liposuction? Do you wish to improve the results of your face lift or other facial cosmetic surgery? Now you have a great option.

Is this what you see in the mirror?

The QuickLift™ was developed by Dominic Brandy, MD, and is performed by a number of doctors who have been personally trained by him. The QuickLift™ is an improved version of the S-Lift, which has been performed since the late 1990s with limited results. The QuickLift™ provides an overall lift to the lower region of the face and upper neck, offering significant age-diminishing effects with minimal downtime and lasting results.
The QuickLift™ is designed for men and women between the ages of 40 and 65+ who want to stay ahead of the aging process. At this age, most individuals lose elasticity in their skin and develop varying degrees of looseness along the jaw line and beneath the chin.
Unlike procedures with similar names and most mini facelifts that tighten only skin, the QuickLift™ permanently suspends the underlying structures of the lower face (SMAS) offering men and women the benefit of a more youthful appearance for years to come. Although the QuickLift™ can produce significant aesthetic improvement for most people, it is important to remember that after any facial procedure, the normal aging process resumes. Lifestyle choices, bone structure, skin type, sun exposure and heredity all play a part in determining how long the desired result will last.

Another satisfying day
I had previously gone to another surgeon for a face liposuction procedure and was very displeased with the results. After a year, I was referred to Dr Sheibani by a former patient. I met with Dr Sheibani and his staff and found them to be very professional. Dr Sheibani was incredibly flexible in working around my hectic schedule.
The procedure was nearly painless and the results were more than I expected. I have recommended Dr Sheibani to others and I am returning for some additional work.

Is restylane for you?
Restylane® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.
Restylane has a highly favorable safety profile. It is composed of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the human body. Restylane is fully biocompatible. There is limited risk of animal-based disease transmission or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins. No allergy testing is required before use.*
Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide long-lasting results.
Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic acids and bovine collagen products, Restylane is free from animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins.*

Botox!
Our newly renovated Dermatology department is up and running with Botox in stock for anyone interested. We use max. strength botox for all of our patients!
Is Botox for you?
In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women surveyed rated the improvement in the appearance of frown lines between their brows as moderate to better 1 month after treatment. Results vary.
Results can last for up to 4 months, and may vary.
BOTOX® Cosmetic was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002 for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65, and almost 3.3 million procedures were performed in 2005 alone.
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ranked BOTOX® Cosmetic as the most popular physician-administered aesthetic procedure in the United States for the fourth year in a row (surgical and nonsurgical combined).

Is laser treatment what you are looking for?
Laser Treatment
Laser Treatment Procedure performed by the New Me Institute™ include Laser Hair Removal,Laser Facial Resurfacing and other General Laser Surgery Procedures. Endermology, Micro-dermabrasion and other cosmetic procedures are also available at our practice.
Laser Resurfacing may be performed on the whole face or in specific regions. Often, the procedure is done in conjunction with another cosmetic operation, such as a Facelift or Eyelid Surgery. All resurfacing treatments work essentially the same way. First, the outer layers of damaged skin are stripped away. Then, as new cells form during the healing process, a smoother, tighter, younger-looking skin surface appears.

Time to freshen up for spring!
Injectable Fillers
Fat Transfer, Collagen and BOTOX® injections are procedures used in improvement of the facial features and relaxation of the fine facial lines and wrinkles.
As we age, our faces begin to show the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement, such as smiling, chewing and squinting. The underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down, often leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crow's feet or facial creases over the areas where this muscle movement occurs.
Soft-tissue fillers, most commonly injectable collagen or fat, can help fill in these lines and creases, temporarily restoring a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. When injected beneath the skin, these fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face. They can also add fullness to the lips and cheeks. Injectable fillers may be used alone or in conjunction with a resurfacing procedure, such as a Laser Treatment, or a re-contouring procedure, such as a Facelift.

Dr. Sheibani,
Thank you for the beautiful new look you gave me! I love what you did and you have a customer for life. ~ Anastasia
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To your staff and their wonderful manner, another BIG THANK-U. I hope to see you soon for my "face lift"I wouldn't go to any other doctor - you have spoiled me so.
Once again a big thank you. I look and feel wonderful with so little effort. If only I knew, I would have done it years ago.
All my love & thanks to you all. ~ Diane
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Dr. Sheibani and Staff,
In all my 55 years with doctors (& they have been numerous) I have yet to meet such a more compassionate & caring doctor.
Thank-you for being so patient with me, with all my questions & my perpetual state of worry & "THEN' it was all over!
Four days later I was out for the entire day & then I returned home to guests for the evening - SOMETHING I NEVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dearest Dr. Sheibani & Jen,
It has been a "privilage" meeting you! I can only think God brought you into our lives for a purpose, & for that I thank him.
You are a "Blessing" to all around you! Thank you again for the "Wonderful" way in which you handled me and my operation. I look forward to my "face lift".
May God continue to Bless you and may his face shine on you all. ~ Love Dinky
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Dr. Sheibani,
I never dreamt how easily you could erase my life long complex about my thighs. I am thrilled with my results and that is only two months after my operation. Now I can't wait to strut my stuff!
I also wanted to take this opportunity to say that I can never THANK YOU ENOUGH for your special bedside manner!!
The operation was painless. I didnt even need to take pain killers after the op. That is how fantastic you are!
All I can say is...... THANK YOU 4 CHANGING MY LIFE!
Always indebted ~ Your patient Mandy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Sheibani,
After wearing braces from two different Orthodontists for four and a half years, I still did not feel comfortable with my own personal appearance. I stil wanted to improve my appearance a little more. I identified the problemafter several years of close evauation and study and I realized the problem that I was caused by my upper lip's unusual abnormality and deformity. To resolve this deformity, I visisted as least twelve different doctors, including Oral-Maxilofacial Surgeons and a plastic surgeon at UCLA. The oral surgeons I saw told me I would need surgery on my upper lip but they did not know a procedure or a way to do it. the plastic surgeons I saw told me that the only way I could change my image was by moving my upper jaw. I even saw a few other plastic surgeons, including a Havard graduated Plastic Surgeon. He said that he could do nothing for me and matter of fact returned my consultation fee. These plastic surgeons told me to accept the way I look and just live with it. Emotionally this was devastating. After countless months of all this frustration, I heard about you Dr. Sheibani. When I originally met with you and asked you for help, I was ecstatic to find out that you siad you would probably be able to help me. I appreciated all of the time you took to learn what the problem was that was bothering me. You met with me on three different occasions and finally against your other colleagues' recommendations just for the sake of helping another person, you devised an incredible new laser and plastic reconstructive technique to correct my upper lip deformity. Dr Sheibani, I love what you have done for me. I will forever be greatful for what you have done!!!

Is a face lift something that can help lift YOUR spirits?
Face Lift
A Facelift (technically known as Rhytidectomy) cannot stop the aging process, but it will be able to "set back the clock," improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck.
A Facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a Forehead lift, Brow lift, Eyelid surgery, or Rhinoplasty. The objective is to improve the appearance of the aging face. Our Surgeons use the most advanced and most effective methods of treatment available, and have more than 30 years of cumulative surgical experience.
The best candidate for a Facelift is a man or woman whose face and neck have begun to sag, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well defined. A Facelift can make you look younger and fresher, and it may enhance your self- confidence in the process.

Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty (or Nose Refinement Surgery) is the most intricate cosmetic surgery performed today. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems.
The best candidates for Rhinoplasty are people who are looking for improvement in the way they look, are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and have realistic expectations.

Are you considering Body Contouring?
Body Contouring
Body Contouring, Liposuction and Abdominoplasty, are procedures to improve the appearance of your body contours. Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to traditional weight-loss methods.
There are technical variations to the basic liposuction techniques. Our surgeons are highly trained, experienced and specialized in lipo-sculpture and micro-liposuction. Liposuction can remove the fat out, but it is not what is removed that matters - it is the shape that you leave the body in after the fat is gone that counts. Lipo-sculpture and micro-liposuction techniques, together with an excellent artistic vision make our surgeons the right individuals to help you achieve the body contours you have always dreamed of.
The best candidates for liposuction are normal-weight people with firm, elastic skin who have pockets of excess fat in certain areas. You should be physically healthy, psychologically stable and realistic in your expectations. Your age is not a major consideration, but older patients may have diminished skin elasticity and may not achieve the same results as a younger patient with tighter skin.
